They fought for 326 straight days and were in almost every major battle in France, Belgium, and Germany. Their mortars placed devastating fire on the enemy from the beaches of Normandy to the Cherbourg Peninsula, and from Aachen and the Hurtgen Forest to the Battle of the Bulge.

Thank you so much for writing this book about the 87th CMB. My uncle, William Stanley Collins, a member of the 87th, was killed in combat July 4, 1944 in Normandy.
The price of freedom is not free. It was paid for dearly by the blood and sacrifices of our armed forces.
